Feature Updates: New Tools and DAM Connections for Canva
We have released new improvements for our DAM Access app in the Canva store. These updates bring additional functionality for metadata use, easier navigation between Canva and DAM systems, and broader DAM connectivity.
They will come into effect automatically, so existing users of the Canva DAM Access app do not need to take any action!
Let’s take a look at what’s new!
Custom Metadata & Metadata Drag-and-Drop
Users can now see all custom metadata stored in their DAM for each asset. In addition, metadata text such as product descriptions, captions, or copyright attributions can be dragged and dropped directly into a Canva design.
How it helps:
- Faster design creation using existing metadata.
- Improved compliance with copyright and attribution requirements.
- Consistent messaging when metadata contains brand language or product details.
Deeplink to DAM Web Interface
Users can now open any asset in the web interface of their DAM system in a new tab with one click from the Canva DAM Access app.
How it helps:
- Make advanced edits to assets with ease
- Faster collaboration when sharing asset links with colleagues.
- Quick navigation without switching between platforms.
Pre-Search & Upload Parameters
Users can now define parameters for search and uploading, as required by some advanced DAM systems.
Support for New DAM Systems
The Canva DAM Access app now connects Canva to many more DAM systems, letting users work with their brand assets regardless of where they are stored.
Newly supported systems include:
- Imageshop (search only)
Tenovos support will follow shortly, with more systems continuously being added.
