Feature Updates: Asset Checks & Relinking, ExCoP for PowerPoint and More!
We’ve been working on new ways to keep your assets synchronized, simplify version management, and expand full support for Microsoft PowerPoint on Mac.
Let’s take a look at the new updates!
Keep Documents Automatically Updated with the Latest DAM Assets
Finding out the assets you’ve been working with are outdated is a huge pet peeve for every creator.
With our new Automatic Asset Check & Relinking feature, you can eliminate that issue by automatically detecting when a newer version of an asset exists in your DAM and replacing it in your document.
If you are working in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, CI HUB performs this check whenever a document is opened. In other supported applications, the check runs when the application starts, ensuring users begin their work with the latest approved assets.
The update happens in the background, removing the need to manually perform a status check, refresh assets, or relink them one by one.
What’s more, if you are working with renditions, this feature will also preserve the rendition you have selected. For example, if you are building a presentation or document with a web-optimized image, CI HUB replaces it with the updated version of that same rendition rather than switching to the original asset.
Finally, this feature can be enabled or disabled depending on your personal or organizational preferences.
Keep Track of Asset Versions at a Glance
Managing asset versions has also become much easier thanks to new Asset Status Indicators. Instead of manually checking timestamps or comparing versions, users can now immediately see whether an asset:
-
Is up to date with the DAM;
-
Has been modified locally, or;
-
Has a newer version available in the DAM.
The indicators are especially useful when multiple people are working with the same assets. If another user uploads a new version while you're editing a local copy, CI HUB clearly shows that your document is using an older DAM version while preserving your local changes. You can then decide whether to upload your work as a new version or relink to the latest approved asset.
This provides much greater visibility into asset status while reducing unnecessary clicks and version comparisons.
Keep Every Asset in Sync with Your DAM
Spend less time checking versions and more time creating content with the latest enhancements in CI HUB.

The latest release also extends CI HUB's asset management capabilities to Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac. Thanks to recent updates to Microsoft's PowerPoint APIs, users can now use our ExCoP functionality on PowerPoint!
PowerPoint for Mac users can now:
-
Detect linked DAM assets inside presentations.
-
Check whether placed assets are up to date.
-
Upload edited assets back to the DAM as new versions.
-
Relink presentations to the latest DAM assets.
-
Track multiple uses of the same asset within a presentation while recognizing edited copies as separate versions.
These capabilities require the latest version of Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac. If an older version is detected, you will get a notification that PowerPoint needs to be updated before the functionality becomes available.
Finally, the Brand Check feature is now also available for Mac PowerPoint users within CI HUB Brand Connector, allowing users to verify that images placed in presentations are linked to approved assets stored in their DAM.
As always, have fun testing the new features, and if you have any feedback - feel free to contact us!
